Onigiri

Onigiri is a "boy professor" with serious expertise in Zoids technology. He's the kind of guy who gets genuinely passionate about the subject—the passion is pretty obvious if you spend five minutes talking to him.
He first appears in Episode 7, where he crosses paths with Arashi. After the events of that episode, Onigiri ends up joining Team Freedom.
Before that, Onigiri had been working on developing the technology behind Death Metal's Death Blast attack. The thing is, he wasn't exactly thrilled about it. The research required him to push forward with something he knew was causing real harm to Zoids, and that conflict clearly weighed on him. It's part of what eventually leads him to switch sides and join the good guys.
