Tao Sagara is a shortstop on Daigo's junior high baseball team and one of his closest friends. She's the tomboy type—kind and laid-back with her teammates, especially her best friend Yayoi Sawa, but competitive and sharp when it counts on the field. Her personality has a playful edge: she'll tease people like Sakura Mutsuko about their performance, get visibly excited over good defensive plays, and isn't shy about complaining when she thinks someone's (or Daigo's) attitude is getting on her nerves. She can also be moody depending on the moment.
When it comes to romance, Tao's a bit of a mixed bag.
