Kondou cuts an imposing figure—he's a tall guy in a sharp business suit with short black wavy hair and an impressively bushy moustache. But despite the formal look, he's actually pretty approachable.
Around the Student Council, he's the kind of headmaster who genuinely wants to support his students. He handles Shino Amakusa's chaos without breaking a sweat and makes a point of getting to know Takatoshi Tsuda, treating him as the school's most visible male student. There's a real sense that he cares about these kids succeeding.
What's kind of admirable is how seriously he takes being a role model. He's a smoker, sure—but he refuses to light up anywhere on campus. Instead, he chews gum during school hours and will cheerfully offer some to anyone visiting. It's a small thing, but it shows he actually thinks about the example he's setting. He's also got a solid working relationship with his staff; he and Naruko Yokoshima get along well, which probably helps keep the school running smoothly.
