Yugo was born in 2017 and placed at the Glory Bell orphanage as a toddler, where he grew up with Lucas, Dina, and other kids. Around thirteen years ago, he and several orphans escaped the facility and found shelter in an underground compound. There, Yugo discovered a letter from someone named William Minerva promising something more substantial than just survival in the shelter—if they could reach a place called Goldy Pond.
The journey to get there was brutal. The group trekked through dangerous forests filled with wild demons and other threats that killed several of his friends. Those who made it to Goldy Pond found something far worse: human poachers who hunted children for sport. In the chaos, demons seemingly wiped out nearly everyone Yugo knew. He barely escaped with his life.
After that, Yugo returned to the underground shelter and basically disappeared into isolation for the next thirteen years, living as a hermit in solitude.
