Toriko is a girl Sorawo encounters in the Otherside who pulls her into exploring that strange place together. She's looking for her missing mentor, Satsuki, and offers to pay Sorawo to help with the search. Frivolous and quick-witted, Toriko's genuinely good at guns and survival stuff, but what really stands out is how well she reads Sorawo—she's tactful about people's pasts and sensitive to mood shifts, even if she can seem tactless with people she's just met.
Things get complicated after she tangles with a Kunekune. Her left hand turns translucently blue and gains the ability to grab onto things from the Otherside and its portals, but only after Sorawo uses her right eye on them first. Toriko keeps a glove on that hand most of the time to avoid questions. She's discovered the hard way that the hand can actually bleed if she cuts it badly enough.
