Kirishima, Okubo, and Sawamura (called Komada in the English dub) are Kuwabara's right-hand men. Okubo's got it rough at home—his mom's chronically ill and doesn't make much money, so he works to keep the household afloat.
The three of them show up again during the Chapter Black arc, catching the Megallica concert with Kuwabara. On the way back, they run into Kiyoshi Mitarai, a.k.a. Seaman, who nearly kills them with one of his water-based monsters. Kuwabara saves their asses and hauls all three of them plus Mitarai on his back to Yusuke's place, then immediately collapses. After Kirishima and the others fill Kurama in on what went down, Kurama wipes their memories of the whole thing so they wouldn't have to carry that burden around, then sends them home.
Kirishima placed 9th in the first character popularity poll with 219 votes.
