Tamamo (human name: Kyousuke Tamamo) is basically the central youko character in the series—he's simultaneously Nube's closest ally and his biggest rival, making him one of the most important figures in the whole story. As a youko, he's legitimately powerful, and his dual role as both friend and antagonist keeps things complicated throughout the manga.
