Yagi Yui is best known for her extraordinary intellect—she's got an IQ of 180—but that genius comes with a real blind spot: she can't read people's emotions. This has always made her feel isolated; people tend to keep their distance, even though she genuinely wants to connect and be understood by others.
Everything changed when she stumbled onto the Mahjong Soul Shrine by accident. Being around the place (and the people there) started shifting something in her. It's a bit of a turning point for her character, honestly.
Outside of that, fans often note that Yui's palate is basically nonexistent. Coffee and snacks are the only things she actually enjoys eating or drinking—everything else just doesn't register for her. She has a genuinely poor sense of taste.
