Born as the eldest son of the Grenville Noble House. His mother, Ava Norfolk, had died as soon as giving birth to him. After his father, Jacob, had taken his former mistress as his second wife, he had been mostly ignored. Hugo is hated by his other family members as well. Hugo has been relegated to a cottage detached from the main house with his nanny and a few maids. He wasn't even allowed to learn things such as academics or swordsmanship or etiquette. Because of this, he had much free time on his hands and opportunities to teach himself things. He would sneak into the book vault to read, or lie low to watch his siblings while they studied with their tutors.
After turning 14 year old, he would experience different things or slight changes to patterns in his life as he goes through his first to sixth loop. And on the seventh, he finally chose to do things differently by exacting revenge on his family.
