Futaba
The sole angel to survive Atlantis's fall over 12,000 years ago, Futaba is defined by a troubling blend of immortal detachment and childlike cruelty. His wings—unusually positioned at his ankles rather than his back—let him move with an almost playful grace that belies his fundamental indifference to human life. Fans often note that he treated the "Wingless ones" (humans) the way a kid might toy with ants: entertaining himself at their expense without real malice, just thoughtless amusement.
This cavalier attitude eventually caught up with him. Humans captured Futaba for experimentation, and the tests proved fatal. His death hit hard—hard enough that it pushed Toma over the edge into seeking revenge against humanity.
What remained of Futaba after his death didn't go to waste. His wings were harvested and grafted onto Glen Anderson, while his remaining wing tissue was repurposed to fuel the autonomous systems powering the Military Vectors.
