He's the bus driver who was originally supposed to take the group to Nanakimura. Things didn't go as planned—the bus got stuck, and everyone decided to abandon it and hike the rest of the way on foot. He chose to stay behind with the vehicle at first, but eventually made his way to the village anyway.
