Shirabu Kenjirou is Shiratorizawa's second year setter, known for being a steady, reliable presence on the court. Teammates consistently note that he gives off a sense of security—his hands are solid, and when receives go a bit off, he's smart about setting high to let the wing spikers do what they do best.
What's notable about Shirabu is that he's the only player on Shiratorizawa's boys' team who didn't get in on a sports scholarship. He actually took the entrance exam specifically to play alongside the tall, strong players he admired, inspired after watching Ushijima back in junior high.
Despite his composed, serious demeanor, he's got a bit of a temper. He gets annoyed pretty easily at nearly everything opponents throw at him, though he bounces back quickly. He's respectful with his seniors but constantly bickers with Goshiki, a first year. He and Kawatabi from Wakutani South were middle school teammates before their paths diverged.
