Shota Kawamoto
A paracyclist who shows up in episode 7 when Sakamichi meets him during a training camp. He's missing his left leg—it was amputated in infancy due to illness—but that never stopped him from loving physical activity. He was into baseball back in high school, which basically set the tone for his competitive streak.
Kawamoto actually got into paracycling kind of randomly. He discovered the sport at an athlete scouting event for the Tokyo Paralympics, and honestly, he picked it up fast. Just eight months after starting, he was already competing at the Rio Paralympics, where he finished 8th. Now he's got his sights set on Tokyo, looking to build on that momentum and prove he's got a real future in the sport.
