Aleah and her twin sister May had a rough start. After their parents died, their own relatives threw them in prison—yeah, actually imprisoned them. They stayed locked up until the end of Part 1's events, when things finally changed. The Church took both sisters in through their orphanage program, and eventually they were adopted by Rae and Claire, who gave them a real home.
