Tokie Tonokawa is one of Ouetsu Nimaiya's key assistants, working alongside him in the Soul King Palace to forge Zanpakutou. She's also a Zanpakutou Spirit herself, which makes sense given her role in the weapon-creation process. Her name roughly translates to "Whetstone River Time Bay" in Japanese. Beyond helping with the actual forging, Tokie serves as one of Nimaiya's bodyguards, keeping watch over the legendary craftsman as he does his work.
