Shouta's Kaede's ex-boyfriend, though the breakup clearly didn't stick in any meaningful way. He still shows up at her place regularly with gifts from his mom—who apparently has no idea they're not together anymore. He's pretty obviously still into her. He's gotten close with Dino and will hang out with him at Kaede's apartment or around town, sometimes even when she's not there. He and Yamada, one of Kaede's friends, seem to get along fine too.
