Abarato's the kind of guy who's always on edge—paranoid, high-strung, and convinced danger's lurking around every corner. That paranoia actually works in his favor out in Otherside, where he's become weirdly good at spotting traps before they spring. His jumpiness keeps him alive.
That said, he's not exactly stable. His grip on reality gets shaky sometimes. Most notably, he once mistook Toriko for his missing wife Michiko, which says something about how far his delusions can go. But there's a softer side too. When he realized Toriko was desperately searching for her missing friend Satsuki, something clicked—he showed genuine compassion for her situation, proving there's more to him than just paranoia and mental spiraling.
