Yui's pretty unique among mages—she can only talk to people through dreams, which is a pretty isolating ability. She spent most of her time living in the dungeon beneath the academy until Arata and the rest of Trinity Seven (minus Lieselotte, who'd gone missing) found her and brought her back to actual civilization. After that, she finally got to experience a normal life and built a close friendship with Levi.
She's got that little-sister energy going on and is intensely attached to Arata. She calls him "Onii-chan" and isn't shy about constantly telling him she loves him. As for her role in the group, Yui's a member of Trinity Seven herself, representing the sin of Greed.
