Natsume and her brother are old friends of Raizen's who decide to compete in the Makai Tournament together. In the preliminaries, Chu actually surrenders to her—partly because he falls head over heels for her, but mostly because he realizes she's way stronger than he is. She makes it further than expected, though she does lose to Mukuro in the same round that Yusuke goes down to Yomi. The thing is, before that loss, Natsume manages to drain a significant chunk of Mukuro's power, which is no small feat. She fights Enki next and loses that match.
