Cologne is Shampoo's great-grandmother and comes to Japan with her, where she runs the Cat Café in Furinkan. She's been around for over a century—basically a contemporary of Happosai—and is the grand master of Chinese Amazon martial arts. She gets around by pogoing on a gnarled wooden staff that doubles as a weapon, which is exactly as cool as it sounds.
She deliberately calls Ranma "bride-groom" and "son-in-law" as part of her scheme to get him and Shampoo together, mostly because she enjoys watching him lose his mind about it. Beyond the matchmaking, she's genuinely skilled enough to teach Ranma and his rivals new techniques when the mood strikes.
Her martial arts mastery runs deep—she can manipulate water and ice, generate whirlwinds by turning an opponent's own aura against them, shatter solid objects with a touch, and hit pressure points in ways that make people feel like they're on fire from the smallest contact. She's also got solid knowledge of arcane lore, cooking, Chinese mythology, and magical artifacts, making her the kind of character who always seems to know more than she's letting on.
