Dorothy Catalonia is basically Relena Peacecraft's opposite. While Relena pushes absolute pacifism, Dorothy argues that conflict is inevitable and necessary—even useful—for achieving peace. She's convinced human confrontation will always exist, and pretending otherwise is naive.
She infiltrated Relena's school in the Sanc Kingdom as a spy for the Romefeller Foundation, courtesy of her grandfather's connections. Relena trusted she'd eventually come around to pacifist ideals, but Dorothy never did. She's genuinely talented at rhetoric, able to sell her philosophy convincingly, and her training as an observer gave her a sharp eye for detail.
Things escalated when Dorothy headed into space to join Zechs Merquise's White Fang movement. Zechs almost destroyed her shuttle on sight—Romefeller wasn't exactly welcome—but she won him over by laying out his own history to him. She became his right hand, present when he used Libra to bombard Earth. Once Zechs handed her the ZERO System to command the Virgo II mobile dolls, her tactical abilities went through the roof; she could actually match the Gundam Pilots.
Behind the confident facade, though, Dorothy's dealing with real trauma. War had broken her down, left her isolated and doubting herself. She'd do almost anything to make the fighting stop.
