She first showed up at Kokonotsu's shop trying to recruit his father, who's actually pretty renowned in the industry. But he wasn't interested in leaving. The catch? He refused to go anywhere unless Kokonotsu agreed to take over the store. When Hotaru realized what a waste it would be to lose someone with Kokonotsu's natural talent for creating and designing sweets, she made a deal with his father: if she could convince Kokonotsu to become the shop's head, his father would join her company right away.
What really gets to Hotaru is how effortlessly Kokonotsu comes up with perfect sweets—like, he barely has to think about it. It's something she clearly admires and finds kind of amazing.
