Tatsuki is Orihime's fiercely protective best friend and the powerhouse of the Karate Club—she's got strength that honestly seems superhuman for her size. She placed second in a regional tournament, which would've been first if not for a car accident that busted up her arm. She and Ichigo go way back; they trained together in karate classes as kids, making her basically his oldest friend in the series.
As the story progresses, she develops the ability to see ghosts and sense hollows, which is more than most people can do. But unlike Ichigo and the others, she never gains actual powers of her own. Everyone keeps the supernatural stuff hidden from her, yet she still catches fragments—glimpses of Ichigo in his shinigami outfit, hazy memories of hollow encounters. During the Hueco Mundo arc, things get tense between her and Ichigo. Desperate for answers about Orihime's disappearance and all the weird stuff she's noticed, Tatsuki confronts him and, when he won't talk, actually punches him through a glass window. It's a rough moment that shows just how strained their friendship becomes when secrets keep piling up.
