Zekua Melon was a wizard and adventure novelist best known for being Kaby Melon's father. He's remembered more for his unconventional choices than his actual literary output—when Duke Everlue blackmailed him into writing propaganda, threatening to strip him and his family of their citizenship, Zekua refused to play along. Instead of delivering the book the Duke wanted, he wrote a personal letter to his son and magically encoded the whole thing as a novel. It's a pretty bold move that says something about where his priorities were, even if it didn't exactly work out well for him in the end.
