Masumi Ageo is a 23-year-old kindergarten teacher still pretty new to the job, handling the Tulip class. She's nervous about basically everything and gets panic attacks whenever she has to deal with a classroom full of kids—which, you know, is kind of the whole point of being a kindergarten teacher. The thing is, the moment Shin-chan yanks off her glasses, her vision gets blurry and she completely changes. Without them, she turns into this aggressive, fearless version of herself. Fans first really got to see this side of her in her debut episode when she acted totally weird and unhinged.
She's got this whole thing with Kuroiso that the manga and anime treat differently—the manga frames it as admiration while the anime leans more into actual romantic feelings. Over the course of the series, she gradually becomes less introverted and more social, though she never fully transforms into an outgoing person. The growth is there, just subtle.
