Tarukane owned Team Masho and got killed by Toguro after repeatedly cheating against Team Urameshi during the tournament. In the English dub, his associate Butujiri tried to get revenge on Yusuke, convinced he'd killed Tarukane—but Sakyo corrected him right before Toguro took him out too, revealing that Younger Toguro was actually responsible.
