Mei Raiden is a St. Freya's Academy student and daughter of Ryoma Raiden, a once-prominent businessman. She's best known for being the tallest of the Valkyries—even taller than her instructor Himeko Murata—and for her years of competitive fencing. Kind-hearted, an excellent student, and a genuinely good cook, she carries herself with a maturity and elegance that comes from her father's strict but loving upbringing.
From elementary school on, Mei stood out academically and athletically, earning her the nickname "Queen of Thunder" among her peers. Most people remember her as generous and composed, the kind of person others naturally gravitated toward.
Everything changed when she turned fifteen. Her father's company collapsed, and he ended up imprisoned on charges she believed were false. The social fallout was brutal—classmates and even close friends distanced themselves, treating her like she was tainted by association. But Mei refused to break publicly. Instead, she threw herself into trying to clear her father's name, determined to find evidence of his innocence at the seized research institute.
The institute was abandoned, its records seemingly destroyed. Then, while searching through it again, she encountered a mysterious figure who left behind a strange box. Curiosity got the better of her. When she opened it, everything changed again—this time, she became the vessel for the Herrscher of Thunder, the third Herrscher to emerge.
