Pom-Pom runs the Astral Express as its conductor—though where they came from originally is anyone's guess. They just showed up on the train sometime after Himeko got it back in working order. They're obsessively detail-oriented, constantly keeping the Parlor Car spotless and making sure every passenger knows when a warp jump is coming. They can be a bit prickly about being teased and aren't shy about showing their irritation, but it's clear they genuinely care about everyone aboard. There's a melancholy side to them too; they're implied to miss Akivili and other passengers who've moved on.
Pom-Pom is a small, rabbit-like creature with large ears, dark gray and white fur, and bright blue eyes. Their look is pretty distinctive—they wear a modified hog-head hat and an oversized coat with a tall collar that hides their arms. The outfit leans heavily on red and black with gold details and gear-like embellishments scattered throughout. A white satchel with gold buckles hangs at their right side, and they've got a red, white, and gold band wrapped around their left ear.
One quirk fans often note: based on Travel Log images, Pom-Pom uses their ears like hands to hold books.
