Miyu Samura's toy poodle originally went by "Santa," but that didn't last long. After Miyu scolded the dog using that name a few times, the poor thing developed a negative association with it. So they needed a new name. Shinichirou came up with "Singe"—though he conveniently neglected to mention that it means "monkey" in French.
