Kutaka is a god of chickens and has the ability to heal throat illnesses. She lives in a spring atop Youkai Mountain but goes to Higan for her job of overseeing the gateway to otherworlds under the yama's oversight.
Her identity is based on Niwatarijin, the god of wild chickens before they were domesticated. She's been considering how to help raise the status of chickens, who've been reduced to a mere food source for humans.
