Daisy is Ann Magnolia's granddaughter. Ann was the girl Violet once wrote letters for—her mother Clara was sick at the time. Years later, Daisy discovers the 50 letters Clara sent to Ann after she died, and the discovery sets her on a quest to track down Violet on Ecarte island.
