Ultima is one of the primordial demons, born at the dawn of creation as a dark mirror to the Seven Angels of Origin. She and her siblings ruled Hell for eons under Rouge's command—a tenure that remained stable even after Bleu and Vert attempted rebellion, were defeated, and returned completely loyal to their overlord. Rather than resort to direct conflict themselves, Ultima, Blanc, and Jaune made a pact to outsmart one another instead, competing through games and racing to incarnate in the material world.
For countless millennia, her attempts to manifest a physical form kept failing. That changed when Noir approached her with an unusual proposition. Now calling himself Diablo, he essentially strongarmed Ultima into serving his new master. She agreed mostly as a way to pass time—expecting to stay just long enough to get bored before moving on. But Diablo's master turned out to be someone genuinely worth her loyalty, and Ultima ended up far more invested than she'd planned.
