Seiryō Tennan
When Emperor Azusa visits Earth demanding his daughters return to Jurai, they refuse. Still bitter that Tenchi's grandfather abandoned the planet for an Earthling, Azusa reluctantly agrees to let them stay—but only if Tenchi can defeat his handpicked suitor for Ayeka in a duel. Enter Seiryō Tennan, heir to one of Jurai's richest families and a walking embodiment of overconfidence.
Seiryō's the type to show up with custom light shows and conjured cherry blossoms just to make an entrance. He genuinely believes Earth is some kind of hellhole and that "liberating" Ayeka from Tenchi is his civic duty. He's so convinced of his superiority that he actually tells Tenchi to concede rather than get embarrassed losing to him. Before the duel even starts, Washū makes a weird bet on Mihoshi winning—which turns out to be weirdly prescient when Mihoshi's shuttle crashes directly onto the deck, washes Seiryō into the lake, and hands Tenchi the win by default.
That loss haunted him. Seiryō developed a lasting grudge against Earthlings that carried straight into GXP, where he's now teaching at the Galaxy Police Academy. When human cadet Seina Yamada enrolls, Seiryō immediately decides he's his new favorite person to torment.
Seina becomes his personal nemesis, constantly destroying Seiryō's revenge schemes through sheer dumb luck. Seiryō rebounds by catching feelings for childhood friend Amane, but she's into Seina, which only deepens his hate. When Amane lets him get captured by pirates in Episode 9, Seiryō snaps and fully commits to villainy—his father gets him installed as captain of the Daluma pirate guild's anti-Seina fleet. In a perfect display of his idiocy, he names the flagship "Unko," which technically means "luck bringer" in Japanese. It also means "poop." The fleet fights evenly with the Kamidake II twice before Seiryō demands a formal duel with Seina, which ends when Seina trips on candy, yanks off Seiryō's belt, and exposes his red bikini briefs to everyone.
By the series' end, he's working as head waiter at a space station near Earth's moon (owned by his family, naturally) during Seina's wedding. There he runs into Kyō Komachi, a space pirate who once captured him, and impulsively proposes to her after learning it's her birthday.
