Karane Inda is Rentarou's first girlfriend—well, one of his first, technically. She shares a first-year class at Ohananomitsu High School with him, Hakari, and several others.
She's got orange-blonde hair in twin tails and dresses in the typical school uniform style: brown sweater, white shirt underneath, short skirt, knee-high socks. People generally find her attractive, though she'd probably deny saying that out loud.
The thing about Karane is she's honest to a fault. except when it comes to two things. One is her body (or what she perceives as lacking), and the other is how she actually feels about Rentarou. She's a classic tsundere—gets all flustered and defensive when her feelings slip through, often looking like she's about to punch someone when really she's just embarrassed. It's a weird mix of straightforward and evasive that throws people off.
Surprisingly, she's one of the physically strongest girlfriends Rentarou's got, powered mostly by sheer determination. She can hold her own against serious opponents, even the leader of the Gorira Alliance. Academically she's solid too—she actually ranks one spot ahead of Rentarou in their class.
Her name's kind of a joke in Japanese. "Inda" basically means hospital/field, but "Karane" references that classic tsundere phrase ending: "It's not like I did it for you or anything!"
