Taikoubou
Taikoubou is a 72-year-old immortal who got sent down to the human world with a pretty straightforward mission: execute the Houshin Plan, basically a soul-trapping operation designed to seal away evil youkai. He's the type who'd rather nap than deal with the day's problems, but don't let the laziness fool you—he's genuinely clever and knows how to work his way around a situation. What really defines him, though, is his aversion to needless death. He'll go out of his way to stop people from dying, even when it complicates things, and that compassion runs deep enough to shape how he approaches the whole Houshin Plan itself.
