Kanedaichi is a hermit who's been holed up in an abandoned transmission tower for about three years. He claims he bought the place and chose to live there, but there's a catch—he's actually trapped inside by his own Stand, Superfly, and has been living in the tower while trying to figure out how to escape. He plays it cool and peaceful so Josuke Higashikata won't suspect anything when he visits, keeping up the act of a harmless recluse.
That said, Kanedaichi's been stuck there long enough that his body has adapted in some pretty wild ways. He's developed thick, calloused hands strong enough to support his entire weight, open bottles, and handle all sorts of tasks that would normally require actual strength. Living in that tower turned him into something more than just a guy camping out—it made him genuinely tough.
