Zoruru is a gray Keronian frog whose entire left side has been replaced with mechanical parts. His left arm features an extendable blade—his weapon of choice—and his right eye has been replaced with an artificial one. A metal plate covers the left side of his face, giving him a distinctly menacing appearance.
He's consumed by a vendetta against Dororo, though the exact reason remains unclear. During the Keroro Platoon's invasion of Earth, Zoruru destroyed Mutsumi and Koyuki specifically to draw Dororo out. When they finally confronted each other at the climax of the battle, Zoruru expected a dramatic showdown. Instead, Dororo had no idea who he was. He tried desperately to remember, confusing Zoruru with former classmates like Girara, Dasasa, and Tosasa. The irony was brutal—even Dororo, the character famous for being overlooked by everyone, didn't recognize him. Zoruru slowly faded away, devastated.
The series then ran with this as an ongoing joke. He keeps getting forgotten in various ways, most memorably when he was the only character left out of an introduction in volume 13's special chapter. Even Dororo's trauma responses seem to revolve around him being dismissed.
Early translations in Tokyopop's volume 10 wrote his dialogue with backward Rs, though this quirk was dropped by the next volume and his later appearances.
