Yaeko Yanasegawa is a Japanese recruit who signed up for the Annex I Project to pay off her debts. She was assigned to Nippon-Alliance Squad 2 under Michelle K. Davis's command.
Once she received her M.O. Operation, Yaeko gained the physiology of a striped skunk. Her transformation gives her functional anal scent glands capable of spraying a potent defensive liquid. This spray is no joke—it contains butyl mercaptan and causes serious damage on contact, destroying eyesight and attacking the lungs, plus it's flammable. The real kicker is the smell itself, which clocks in at roughly 16,000 times stronger than surströming. That's strong enough to actually stop a Terraformar attack.
The catch is that Yaeko's low rank and basic skunk biology suggest she can only produce limited quantities of the spray. Her actual combat ability seems pretty weak overall, and her rank on the team confirms she's essentially one of the least powerful members aboard the Annex I.
