Konayuki is Shirayuki's younger sister and the second oldest of the six Hotogi shrine maidens. She's a step-sister—the only one among them—and is two years younger than Shirayuki, who she's pretty attached to. Like the others, she practices divination as a Hotogi miko, though her relationship to the shrine differs from her siblings'.
She first shows up in light novel volume 5, chapter 3, lurking outside Kinji's apartment waiting for her sister. Dressed in full miko garments, she's carrying a bundle marked with the family's pentagram symbol on her back and holding a red oilskin parasol. She's got black hair down to her shoulders and bears a strong resemblance to Shirayuki—fans often note she's quite beautiful as well, though her appearance is more reserved than flashy.
