Jibril is the youngest and strongest of the Flügel, though her real strength lies in her obsession with knowledge—a passion that predates even the Ten Oaths themselves. She clashed hard with the Council of Eighteen Wings over their book sharing law, eventually abandoning Avant Heim to challenge Elchea's king for control of the National Library. She won, naturally.
Enter Sora and Shiro. When they learned what Jibril had done, they basically called her bluff with a game of their own. She lost everything—literally wagered herself along with her possessions—because in her mind, knowledge was worth any price. The catch was she had to share the library now, though Sora and Shiro made her their servant to seal the deal. Over time, serving under them actually shifted her perspective. She started to buy into Sora's whole thing about human potential, which is saying something coming from a Flügel.
There's an interesting bit of lore here: Azriel once explained that Artosh deliberately gave Jibril the gift of imperfection. Sounds counterintuitive for a god to curse his strongest creation with flaws, but Artosh apparently figured that's exactly what she'd need to figure out how the Flügel could survive if he ever vanished. Spoiler alert—he did, and she had to deal with the consequences.
