Taisei's the son of Hideo Aranami, who runs Aranami Heavy Industries. With a corrupt criminal for a father, he basically had no shot at turning out well-adjusted—and he didn't. He grew up to be lazy, sadistic, and generally the kind of guy you'd want to avoid at parties.
