Kimigiku is a member of a shinobi clan serving Senhime's family. She first appears after Harada's patrol group meets Nagumo Kaoru—Harada uses his reward money to take the captains out to dinner in Shimabara's courtesan district, where Kimigiku works undercover dressed as a courtesan for the evening. During dinner, the captains joke about how much Chizuru resembles Kaoru, and when they suggest dressing Chizuru up as a woman, Kimigiku happily goes along with it.
Later that same night, Kimigiku spots Kazama and Amagiri in the area. By day, she operates in her shinobi gear, reporting back to Senhime about Kazama's group of oni returning to Kyoto. After Heisuke and Saito leave with Itou's faction, Senhime and Kimigiku visit Chizuru at Shinsengumi headquarters to warn her that Kazama is back in the city. When Kimigiku's true role as Senhime's servant, bodyguard, and fellow oni is revealed to the captains, both she and Senhime urge Chizuru to join them for her own protection.
