Yuugo is the protagonist of Silver Spoon, and honestly, he's kind of a mess in the best way possible. He enrolled at Ooezo High—an agricultural school—basically to escape his parents, which is pretty relatable even if the setting is rural Hokkaido.
He's genuinely smart and hardworking, but that counts for nothing when he's surrounded by kids who grew up on farms and actually know what they're doing. His grades take a hit in subjects where that hands-on experience matters, and it stings his ego pretty badly. To get closer to Mikage Aki (his crush), he joins the equestrian club, which at least forces him to engage with farm life in a less painful way.
The real arc is watching him realize everyone around him has some direction, some purpose tied to agriculture or their family legacy, while he's just. drifting. So he starts actually trying to figure out what he wants, rather than just running away from what he doesn't.
