Bonnon is the villain in the SuperS Special Ami-chan no Hatsukoi (Ami's First Love).
The special centers on Ami caught in an intense rivalry with a mysterious classmate named Mercurius, who keeps matching her perfect test scores. The pressure sends her into overdrive—she's barely sleeping, and one day at prep school she crashes so hard she sleeps through an entire class. When she wakes up in the dark, she spots something unsettling outside the window: a glowing red face that vanishes into a lilac mist. That's Bonnon, a spirit who mistakes Ami's obsessive thoughts about Mercurius for romantic feelings. Convinced she can feed off Ami's passion, Bonnon envelops her in her skirts, leaving Ami feeling sick on the way home.
Once Ami's bedridden and consumed by the idea that Mercurius is hurting her, Bonnon sees the perfect moment to strike. She hits Ami with her "Love Letter Attack," materializing bubbles filled with all of Ami's memorized knowledge and popping them one by one. Ami starts losing everything she's studied.
When Usagi, Mamoru, and ChibiUsa show up at Ami's apartment to help, things get weird. The floor vanishes, Usagi's left hanging from the doorframe for dear life, and a delirious Ami keeps insisting that she herself is Mercurius. Before Bonnon can even introduce herself properly, Ami transforms into Sailor Mercury and destroys her with Mercury Aqua Mirage.
