Kayui is a shinobi from Kumogakure who shows up during the Fourth Shinobi War arc. He's best known for being part of Yurui's unit, though after things went south, he and the survivors ended up regrouping under Nurui's leadership.
When the group decided they needed to get out of dodge and flee from Ameyuri Ringo, Kayui found himself stuck in the middle—Omoi didn't want to back down, which sparked some tension as they were trying to make their escape. Kayui basically tried to keep things from falling apart between the two. Eventually Omoi went back to face Ameyuri anyway, and Kayui went with him along with Nurui, only to get taken out by her attack. The rest of the Third Division showed up just in time to trap her in a marsh, and Kayui left with the others once she was sealed away.
