Eiji is a classmate of Furuya Mai who's in a rough spot financially—his family fell on hard times after he started high school, so he's had to put his education on hold until they can swing tuition. Since he's sitting out the exams, the school's cultural festival is basically his last chance to be part of something big at school. That's why he's constantly bugging Mai to help out with the class's festival preparations, though she usually responds by hitting him. Weirdly, getting smacked around seems to have made him tougher over time, and he's developed this odd habit of actually asking to be kicked again after taking a hit.
Outside of school, he's got two younger sisters and a pet dog.
