A bubbly, playful student in Four Star Academy's Male Division, he's got a pretty solid read on his younger sister Mahiru's personality—which makes sense given they're siblings. His older sister Yozora also attends the academy.
He's one of four members of M4, the franchise's first male idol unit, alongside Subaru Yuuki, Nozomu Igarashi, and Kanata Kira. The three of them are known for regularly teasing Subaru about his obvious feelings for Yume, which he takes in stride.
