Magearna is an artificial Pokémon made from interlocking metal spheres, giving it a distinctly mechanical yet almost doll-like appearance. Its head is a medium sphere topped with a seven-toothed gear, flanked by large rabbit-like ears rimmed in gold. The face is minimal—just a tiny nose and mouth, paired with striking red eyes marked by pinkish ovals containing white crosses. Thin gold wiring loops around each eye with small prongs that resemble lashes.
The upper body mimics a Poké Ball's design, split into two light blue halves by a thick gray band. A circular depression in the band's center shows half-blue, half-pink coloring, while yellow diamond markings sit above and below it. Large spherical shoulders lead down to thin upper arms, claw-like forearms, and slightly pointed hands. The lower body is a massive sphere that resembles a ball gown—divided front and back by gray lines, with golden wavy accents on the sides. Metal plating ruffles the bottom edge, and the front features a broken gold ring with a shield-shaped center, while the back has a solid gold ring with a hole through it. Two pointed legs complete the design.
What makes Magearna truly remarkable is its origin. A scientist created it roughly 500 years ago by harvesting life energy from Pokémon and concentrating it into a sphere called the Soul-Heart—which is actually Magearna's true body. Thanks to this unique construction, Magearna can sense and perceive the emotions, thoughts, and pain of other Pokémon, driving an almost compulsive need to help injured ones. When sleeping or sad, it can even shift to resemble a standard Poké Ball.
Originally, Magearna was painted in vibrant red and gold to match an actual Poké Ball's colors—a clear sign it was crafted as a royal gift. The princess who received it was thrilled with the present. This Original Color form still exists today, contrasting sharply with the more modern silver version most people recognize.
