"Groovy Guy" Russel is a middle-aged American working for a Florida crime syndicate hunting Jane. He's impossible to miss—he dresses like an old-school cowboy complete with hat, boots with spurs, a holstered revolver, bandoleer belt, tan shirt, and jeans. The other bounty hunters write him off as an outsider who doesn't belong, with even Shenhua taking a shot at him by saying, "Cowboy, this no Florida."
He proves them all wrong when he outlasts every other bounty hunter in the search for Jane, eventually dueling Eda aboard the Lagoon. It comes out that the two have actually crossed paths before in the States, though Eda denies it. Just before she kills him, she reveals she's CIA.
