Chukou is a towering first-year at Kyosho Academy and one of Sousou's most devoted fighters. She's best known for her intimidating height—which caused real problems growing up. Back in middle school judo club, her size made the other members assume she was male, and it got bad enough that they physically assaulted her trying to figure out the truth. Sousou was there when it happened. His dragon manifested, and he killed everyone in the room to protect her. That moment cemented her loyalty; she swore she'd protect him no matter what.
These days she juggles volleyball with the school's stitching club (and the judo club keeps trying to recruit her). She's also known for having the largest bust size among the female fighters at 99cm—fans often note this gets mentioned more than once.
In the anime, she played a key role at the Battle of Red Cliffs after being assigned by Shibai to monitor Sousou if he got too strong. During the Nanban Island tournament arc, she and Souki represented Kyosho. When the Nanban warriors ambushed their boat, she and rival Mouki managed to escape and swim ashore. Stranded together, the two gradually made peace as Chukou opened up about her feelings for Sousou. She fought alongside Mouki and Hakufu during the final battle to rescue the imprisoned fighters.
